Quinacridone violet is produced on the basis of the pigment PV 19 , but at the other end of the color scale. Mixing with a warm ultramarine blue, this color is perfect for purple reenactments. Even when mixed with Phtalogreen, amazing purple tones can be created.
History Although quinacridone and its production was already known in the late 19th century, it was not until the 1950s when the commercial production of the pigments started. Quinacridone pigments were initially developed as coatings for the automotive industry, but then were quickly adopted by artists.
