ASTM I (Woolscale 7-8)
This color is one of the most commercially important pigments of the monoazo / Hansa Yellow Group. It is due to its color strength and light fastness superior to other Hansa colors.
Our Brilliant Yellow is a warm neutral yellow that produces glowing tints.
Hansa yellow is commonly used as a substitute for toxic, lead-containing chrome yellow.
Hansa yellow was produced in Germany in 1910 of a series of synthetic dyes. It should serve as a substitute for cadmium yellow. These so-called azo pigments were continuously improved over the decades. So today's conventional varieties with are qualitatively hardly comparable with the dyes at the time known as "Hansa Yellow".
